Fishing in Normandy

Fishing may not appeal to all but is a sport respected and practised by many. If you are looking for peace and solitude in an idyllic setting, we may have the perfect solution. The river Huisne runs for many miles through the Orne region in southern Normandy and is a category 1 fishing river, perfect for a few days fly-fishing and offering trout and grayling on a " catch and release " basis. Daily tariffs start at a mere 8 euros (about £5.50 ) for a day's fishing and can be bought on a daily, weekly or two-weekly basis. There are also areas of the river Huisne which allow " catch and kill " should you wish to retain your day's catch for eating at a later date, or on our barbecue terrace.
